March is all about fashion
We have a lot planned for this month and we hope you will be as excited as we are with what we have in-store.
We will be working with a number of old and new brands to the store to bring you installations, presentations, trunk shows, talks and workshops throughout the month. March will also be the month we introduce our Store Keeper feature where we invite someone we think is really cool to take over the store for a week, running our social media, arranging the clothing racks and basically playing with the layout of the physical space.
First up from the 13th till the 18th of March is Shem Paronelli's "The Evolution of Hooves". The brand Shem Paronelli Studios is having their first ever private installation in the store and will be presenting their shoe & accessories collection for men and women. They will be transforming a section of the store for the period of the installation in order to display their pieces and everything will be available to order.
We have seen some of the shoes and we think you will all be thrilled with what the brand has in store. Also check out our chat with the lead designer tomorrow morning on the blog.
On the 19th we will be hosting Adeju Thompson and his eponymous brand as he launches the first collection since his showing at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week in 2014.
U.Mi-1 will be hosting a trunk show on the 25th and 26th of March. Come round to get amazing deals on older stock and shop her Spring 2016 collection, with select pieces from AW16 available for preorder.
We will be hosting designer and architect Eve Nnaji of Even Designed who will demonstrate how she makes her amazing Even bags and provide an opportunity to get one yourself or order a custom piece. We will be updating this post once we have a date!
Finally, we are very happy to announce that photographer extraordinaire, Lakin Ogunbanwo will be the first Stranger Store Keeper and will run the store from the 14th of March till Saturday the 19th. Lakin will bring music, his own approach to merchandising the store space and maybe even some photos(!) as he takes over the store and recasts it in his own image.
Look out for his take and material on the Stranger Instagram account and our coverage of his tenure as the store's first ever Store Keeper on the blog from the 21st of March.
We are also in talks with Vestoj publisher and editor Anja Cronberg about doing a talk in the store on fashion publishing and her fashion journal and will also update you all once we have a firm date for the proceedings.
March is going to be an exciting month and we may still have one or two more surprises in store for you all.
Take care and have a great rest of week ahead!
