Well into our second year now, we have endeavored to offer a unique blend of slow fashion, considered design and a burgeoning sub-culture out of our unassuming Lekki Phase 1 location.
Staying at the forefront of Lagos’ rapidly evolving retail landscape, we spent eight weeks revisiting both the space and the idea behind the store, iterating on the core concept.
We ended up with a renewed focus on developing an alternative lifestyle hub with a sublime blend of clothing, accessories, stationery and periodicals as well as plans to set up a more functional library and workshop.
The idea was always to figure out a way to get people together over a shared love of beautiful and well made things, whether that was clothing, food, or even ideas.
With that in mind, we expanded “The Magenta Room” micro-café into a brew bar which now offers baked goods and an even more varied selection of teas and coffees from around the world, not to mention a fine selection of whiskey and bourbon!
The boutique has been moved to the back and we are working on new ways to engage with our customers via pop-up stores, made-to-measure capsule collections created by the designers we stock and of course traditional ready-to-wear items. We are also launching our in-house brand, Sunless which we are super excited about. We hope to encapsulate the Stranger ethos, expressing it in material form.
